Stop Jumping to Conclusions

(Warning: This is a more “stream of consciousness” piece...might be a bit jumpy. Ha!)
——

I just read Psalms 31:22 which reads:

“I jumped to conclusions and said, ‘I am cut off from your presence!’ But you heard my plea for mercy when I cried out to you for help.” (NET)

I got 4 simple words from that:
Stop....jumping....to....conclusions.

You can not calculate God’s moves.
You can not calculate God’s moves.
You can not calculate God’s moves.

God’s plan is always bigger and better than our own. Our thoughts, our perspectives, our little invisible mental boxes are too small to fully captivate God’s brilliance. We can’t fathom it.

So, STOP JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS!

This is not the end.
This is not where you “end up.”
This is not the finale.
This is not your final state.
This is not the conclusion.

So, Stop jumping to conclusions...

Sure something may not have gone the way you wanted it or expected it to, but...honestly...if everything I ever wanted would’ve went my way, I don’t know what or where I would be. Every door God closed and opened led me to another pretty dope mile marker on my life’s journey, despite all the WRONG conclusions I jumped to along the way...

(Stop jumping to conclusions!)

Whenever I thought I knew God’s plan, I always found myself self-sabotaging my prayers....Sort of editing my thoughts before I let God “hear” them (as if he didn’t already know them). It caused me to lose a sense of authenticity (which my relationship with God is based on). I had to remind myself:

STOP JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS!

We don’t know God’s plans, but He knows His plan...which is all the more reason to trust him.

Another thing—

Stop expecting the worst. Instead, you can 100% expect that on the other side of whatever happens will be more life.

Whether what happens is good or bad, there will be life after it...abundant life. Why? Because THAT’s what he promised. He promised us life more abundantly. (John 10:10)

One of the main reasons we jump to conclusions is because we try to make sense of what’s happening. We try to understand the full picture at a premature state. Baby, God is the only one that works in and out of time. He is not constrained by time, but...we, as humans on His clock...are.  Having said that, He is the ONLY one that sees the full picture. Even people who prophesy only prophesy in part (1 Corinthians 13:9)...they don’t even see the full picture at its highest pixel quality!

So, chill. Don’t jump to conclusions.

...and in due time He will reveal your life’s full picture in divine 8k Ultra High-Definition and you will see CLEARLY that it’s actually quite beautiful.

All of it!

P.S. STOP JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS!!
