God's Intentionality: Proof That He Has A Plan

(☝🏾Hit the play button to listen along!)

Have you ever thought about all the intentionality it took to get you here?

Sometimes I have to step back and think about that.

It sounds a little ridiculous, but...

Consider all it took for us just to become a Fetus. Do you know how precise & exact the entire process had to be in order for you to just be conceived? Women lose 1,000 eggs a month...and yet...you get to be the fertilized one that becomes a human...

How crazy is that?

...and then once you're conceived, about 10-20% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage.

...and then, at least in the US, nearly 24, 000 babies are stillborn.

Do you realize how much it took just for you to get to this point of life?

Do you know how much GRACE it took to get you here?

Do you know how much divine SKILL it took to get you here?

Do you know how much Godly detail it takes to keep you here?

....and you still wonder if God loves you?

...and you're still wondering if God actually has a purpose for you?

...and you're still wondering if God actually thinks Good thoughts toward you?

We've all heard this scripture a million times:

Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

When I thought about that scripture yesterday...that "for you" part really stuck out to me.

It's easy to know that God has plans...but sometimes it difficult to believe that a big God has a plan for me individually...and its even harder to believe that the plans are good and not for a disaster...especially when you're in the midst of what seems to be a disaster.

It's so easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of emotions that life likes to bring us, but if you just stop for a moment...and think about all the intentionality it took to get you to this point, you HAVE to consider that God...as resourceful and big as He is...He has to be doing something purposeful.

Yesterday, I was listening to a song called "I'm Alive." I'd never heard the song before, but the lyrics immediately got me.

"God knows the plans He has for me. He knows the thoughts he thinks toward me and nothing is an accident. I'm alive because there's more."

....and is that NOT the truth?

Satan or even our own reason...try to deceive us into thinking that because bad or uncomfortable things happen to us, that God has totally forgotten about us...or even that God never even considered us in the first place...but we know that's the furthest thing from the truth...we just gotta believe it. We're alive because there's more!

When I think about Job....I'm always amazed at how he got through all of that...cause I just know Courtney would've been a whooooollle mess!

...but with everything he went through, I can't help but think that Job had to have believed that there was more. He was dang near perfect and had the very gates of Hell come against EVERYthing in his life...his family, his health, his finances....like....everything...

...and still in Job 42:2 Job says "I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted."

We know because of Scripture that Job was used as a rebuttal to satan's foolishness and he was eventually blessed with double for his trouble...but I don't know....to some degree I just feel like Job, at the time, had to believe that there was more to what he was going through...it's one thing to be reaping the consequences of your bad actions, but that wasn't Job's case...like I said he was dang near perfect...and I think he knew that. I think he...at least believed that there was a method to the madness.

Of course we can't read Job's thoughts outside of scripture, but fortunately for us, we get to read his story and others in order to have a basis to believe that the madness we may be going through is only temporary...and that God has a plan and a purpose to and for everything...That includes every situation, every issue, every blessing, and every part of you.

I really hope we learn to believe that!

Listen. God don't play about you! When it comes to you, God has been intentional since before you were a fetus...NOTHING is an accident...you're alive because there's more!
